The Unjournal draws on a diverse, international pool of researchers who provide rigorous, paid evaluations of impactful research. Over 300 have signed up; of these, roughly 230 have been vetted and prioritized based on expertise and relevance. Below is a snapshot as of March 2026.

Evaluator Consent Survey Results

We surveyed our evaluator pool about their preferences for data sharing and public identification. Responses from 36 evaluators (out of ~230 vetted in the pool) are summarized below. We plan to extend this survey to more evaluators.

Key Findings (36 respondents)

81% (29 of 36) consented to their name being shared publicly as a member of the evaluator pool
97% (35 of 36) want to remain in the evaluator pool
97% (36 of 37) consent to sharing their name with other evaluators in the pool
81% (30 of 37) consent broadly to sharing with open science organizations

Note: Even evaluators who share their name as pool members retain full anonymity for specific evaluations they complete, unless they choose otherwise.
