The basic idea
A shared room is a live board with its own invite link. Everyone with the same room link sees the same people, and people in other rooms do not. No accounts are needed. Available means what you are open to now; visible means how long your card stays on the board.
Open an invitation, or choose Create a room for my group. Copy an invitation message into your group chat or email, then pin or bookmark the link. You can browse before giving a name. If you have not added a one-click reach link yet, the app asks for one before publishing availability.
Pick what you are available for, such as a quick hello, phone call, FaceTime/video, drive-time call, or async text. Choose 1:1 or speakerphone/group.
Set the suggested conversation length separately from how long your card remains visible. Add a visible conversation note, then use Preview my card to inspect what everyone in this room can see.
Use Stop sharing when you are no longer free. When someone taps a reach button on your card, it opens the app but does not remove you; they decide whether to mark you busy afterward.
Pin a room link in Slack, Teams, Discord, WhatsApp, Signal, an email thread, or a project page. Add your own meeting or contact link in settings. Sharing does not send automatic alerts or sync anyone’s calendar. Keep the page open while available; after a connection loss, publish again.
Rooms have no access controls. Keep confidential details in your existing team tools. Voice prompts and uploads are stored on the server.
Hypothes.is is enabled on the app page. Open the Hypothes.is sidebar or select text on the interface to leave comments and suggestions.
